It's Festival Season!
September is here, and that means the Bay Area is awash in fall festivals. We have
a listing of most of them in our September issue. Pick it up or visit us online at
BayAreaParent.com. Below, I list two of those festivals that are devoted to

Family Fairs in Pleasanton and Livermore
This weekend, there are not one but TWO family fairs in eastern Alameda County.
Kidsfaire, the West Coast's largest family event, features over 550 interactive
exhibits, entertainment, children's characters and more over 15 acres of attractions.
Saturday and Sunday.,10am-5pm. $8 adults, $5 ages 2-12, under age 2 FREE. Alameda

Also this weekend, join the Livermore Recreation and Park District for two days of
fun including carnival games, an inflatable activity center, a bike rodeo and
more. FREE admission. Fees apply to carnival rides and some activities. Saturday

Movies Under the Stars in Walnut Creek
Are your children upset because the latest Harry Potter movie, Harry Potter and
the Half-Blood Prince, won't open until next summer? This might help. Saturday
night, the City of Walnut Creek Parks and Recreation presents a showing of the
first Potter movie, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. Movie begins at dusk.

Family Funshop at Blackhawk
Celebrate Grandparents' Day this Sunday with a tour of the Blackhawk Museum's
autos, and make calzones in keeping with the museum's Italian theme. Drop in
between 1-4pm. $10 adults, $7 students, children under age 6 enter FREE with a paying

We Want Your Halloween Photos!
In our October issue, Bay Area Parent will be publishing photos of kids in their Halloween costumes. Feel free to submit last year's photos, or, if you have an early-bird, let's see who or what your child will be this year!
