SAN FRANCISCO

Blue Bear School of Music. Individual and group classes for kids include drums, guitar, bass, keyboard and voice. Fort Mason Center. 415-673-3600. www.bluebearmusic.org

Community Music Center offers a wide range of private and group music classes, as well as an extensive program of concerts. Ages 7 and under can take Music for Children or Piano for Kids. Richmond and Mission locations. 544 Capp St. 415-647-6015. www.sfcmc.org.

Mission Girls. For girls, ages 9-17, in the Mission District neighborhood. This group offers a free after-school program and an eight-week summer program. The group provides academic assistance, career exploration and violence prevention. The fee for the summer program is $100. 3007 24th St. 415-648-2826. www.mncyouthservices.org.

Parents Place is a non-sectarian program of the Jewish Family and Children’s Services. Drop-in Play for ages 3 and under: Mondays, 10-11am, Wednesdays, 9:30-10:45am and Thursdays, noon-1pm; $6 per family per session. Precita Eyes Mural Arts Center. Drop-in classes: Toddlers' Art Class, ages 1.5-5 explore the possibilities of art through tactile and visual projects, Monday to Thursday, 10:30-11:30am. Kids' Art Program for ages 5-10, Tuesday and Thursday, 3:30-5:30pm.
